Okay, well, we made it here. Yay! It is midnight now, so we got in while it is very dark. Upon getting out of the airport we were greeted by our company guide/airport transporter guys....and about 200 other guys. And when I say guys I mean20 to 30 year old napalese men. All wanting your business, because many people will hire guides etc at the airport. So imagine a bit of a mob waiting for you outside in a dark parking lot. Yikes. Then... We got in our van with the guys, and other few people, and headed off to our hotels. Now this was something else too. In a van, driving through narrow alley like streets, with garbage, no street lights, no house lights inside or out, and a bunch of random dudes walking around the streets in pitch black. Okay okay. This is interesting. But we got to our hotel and it is not too shabby. (compared to our impressions so far) Took a shower after traveling 2 days and got to dry off with a stinky towel, grey from all the, I don't know what. And half way through writing up this blog, on my bed, with Annie doing the same on hers, the power shuts down. I guess that explains the no lights thing in all the buildings. So here we are typing away on out beds with nothing but the glow of our iPhones to see anything. So tomorrow will bring some new and interesting experiences I am sure. No more wifi until power comes back. I miss hong kong.
